I felt like making some “lembas bread” today! If you enjoy Lord of the Rings like I do, you know what I’m talking about…
REFUGE. A safe place you run to for protection, comfort, to escape trouble.
What is your refuge?
We each have our go-to’s. A friend, work, media, our home, a role or position (whether as a mom, ministry, or work related), exercise, coffee, … sugar! While these are good gifts to enjoy, they all fail us. God is our only reliable refuge.
The secret to living and loving well is receiving love from God.
When we love on our own, at best the love we show is mingled with needing something for ourselves out of it, too.
I noticed this cottonwood tree at Zion National Park earlier this summer. When I looked closer, there was no soil under the tree itself! It had been washed away by seasonal floods, but the tree’s stout roots grew deep into the ground to support it.
