Hospital Care Package

This post is in honor of one of my nephews who turns 7 today! He is a smart, funny, energetic boy, and also a miracle!

He was diagnosed with infantile leukemia before he was one, and spent most of the next year in the hospital – while his parents juggled how to be there with him, and also care for his two older brothers. They celebrated half-birthdays and didn’t take a day for granted. What an amazing couple!

He now lives the life of a normal school-age kid! I want to remember this answered prayer and give thanks. Today is a gift from God to celebrate! 20140501_165633

Our Home, Haven {Home, Part 3}

I’ve named our home Haven. It’s a safe place we return to from daily life to find rest and mutual care. It’s a haven where we can be authentic with our real selves and emotions. We can make choices to create a trusting and safe environment in our homes.
