Aubrey and I played Catan Junior the other day. She is competitive, so I don’t need to go easy on her. We were only a few turns into the game and luck was flat out bad for her. My ships and lairs were piling up and she had nearly nothing.

Love = See + Compassion + Action
Yesterday, I was at Target and I took a short-cut through the women’s pajama section. I casually overheard a nice looking senior gentleman ask an associate if this was all of the women’s pajamas. I didn’t think much of the question, but her response caught my attention. He asked a simple question, and she responded, “Yes, this is it…you’re on your own.” He obviously was out of place in this area of the store!

Love Asks Questions
Each time I saw this friend, she would ask a question about something I had mentioned the last time we talked. The question might be about something I was planning to do or something that was on my heart. This told me she had really been listening to me. Her question made me feel like I was loved and paid attention to! She inspired me to try to ask questions more with others I knew.
Asking questions is a skill for loving well! It accomplishes at least four things:
Wisdom for Your Path from Proverbs
What is the path ahead of you like? Maybe it seems difficult or like the destination is unknown. Or maybe it feels familiar and well worn, like you are trudging along the same old lane. While none of us is in control of the things that lie across the path ahead of us, trusting in God and living wisely will guide our steps and determine our destination.
Live artfully!
I’m sharing something special with you this week! My daughter, Ellie, wrote this in her sketch pad:
“Art is meant to be shared. People enjoy art, and they love to look at it. So make art. It doesn’t matter if it’s drawing, painting, sculpting, or even taking photos. It’s art. It doesn’t even matter if you’re good at drawing or not, it’s art! Even if you don’t like art, things like dance, music, singing, and drama are art. It’s just the art of people. So get out there and make art!”
