I noticed this cottonwood tree at Zion National Park earlier this summer. When I looked closer, there was no soil under the tree itself! It had been washed away by seasonal floods, but the tree’s stout roots grew deep into the ground to support it.
I had a mint plant in a pot on my back porch last summer. It smelled so nice and added a pretty bit of green between two chairs! But it had grown out, becoming stringy and deadish in places. So I trimmed it back to give it new energy to grow. Continue reading “Trimming & Pruning”
