In case you don’t know about it, I want to invite you to check out my “micro-blog” posts on Instagram and Facebook. These posts are snapshots of living a life of love in everyday, authentic life! With these photos, I share encouragement to live and love well as we grow our relationship with God – and out of that we live the full live and love people.
One of the initial things that piqued my interest in Gallup’s strengths assessment was how helpful it could be for growing relationships. Their resources emphasize how strengths play out in relationships as well as how we grow our strengths in the context of relationships. Because of this I sought certification as a Gallup strengths coach.
REFUGE. A safe place you run to for protection, comfort, to escape trouble.
What is your refuge?
We each have our go-to’s. A friend, work, media, our home, a role or position (whether as a mom, ministry, or work related), exercise, coffee, … sugar! While these are good gifts to enjoy, they all fail us. God is our only reliable refuge.
I’ve discovered that I thoroughly enjoy genealogy. The story of it all pulls me in. I imagine these people from the past, some of whose stories I’ve heard. For others I can only piece together a sketch of their lives from historical documents.
The secret to living and loving well is receiving love from God.
When we love on our own, at best the love we show is mingled with needing something for ourselves out of it, too.
